Pepsi Admits Aquafina Is Bottled Tap Water

September 19, 2019

Here at Get The Best From Today, we strongly encourage you to NEVER drink straight from the tap in your home. Florida’s water has recently tested positive for 10 contaminants, some over LEGAL limits. Drinking from your sink can have damaging effects on your health such as feeling fatigued, overly dry skin after showering, and possible carcinogens entering your body. Tap water can even damage things like your clothes and plumbing fixtures due to high chlorine content in your water.

Pepsi Co. Admits to Using Tap Water

While most people opt-out of drinking straight from the tap and go for bottled water instead, that is not necessarily the safer option. In an article published by ABC News, Pepsi Co. admitted that Aquafina was being sourced from tap water. So, while you are spending $3.00 for a bottle of water, you are actually paying for water that comes from the same public water source as your sink!

Misleading Marketing

A group that pushes for an end to misleading marketing practices, Corporate Accountability International, has been working toward this goal for some time. With their help, Aquafina will be required to put “P.W.S’ on their label to show that their water is “public source water.”

A Pepsi spokesperson had this to say about the change, “If this helps clarify the fact that the water from public sources, then it’s a reasonable thing to do.”

The Importance of Water Filtration in Florida

We highly encourage all of our Florida homeowners to strongly consider a water filtration system in their home. That way you can ensure the water you are drinking is PURE. As we see here, even bottled water isn’t safe to drink under some circumstances.
